Frequently Asked Questions
-
Working outside insurance lets us spend real time with you instead of rushing to fit a billing code. There's no rationing your appointment to 15 minutes, and no insurance company deciding what treatment you're "allowed" to have. It means the care plan we build together is based on what actually helps you, not what a claims department will approve.
-
No, this isn't a subscription service. You only pay for the visits you actually need, there's no monthly recurring fee. Most patients are seen every 3 to 6 months, though more frequent visits are sometimes needed depending on what's going on clinically.
-
Yes. While your visits with us are self-pay, most prescriptions and standard lab testing can still go through your insurance just like you're used to. We're happy to send prescriptions to your pharmacy and lab orders to a facility that accepts your plan, so that part of the process stays familiar and affordable.
We also offer certain specialty lab options such as pharmacogenomic (PGx) testing and other comprehensive tests that can provide valuable insight into your care but may not be covered by insurance. If a specialty lab is recommended, we'll let you know ahead of time so you can decide what works best for you.
-
No. Because your visits aren't billed through insurance, there's no claim filed and no record sent to your insurance company. That means your care stays private between you and your provider — something many patients value, especially when it comes to mental health.
-
Possibly. Many insurance plans offer out-of-network reimbursement, and we're happy to provide you with a superbill — an itemized receipt you can submit to your insurance company for potential partial reimbursement. It's worth checking with your plan directly to see what your out-of-network mental health benefits look like.

Appointments are $85, with a minimum of 30 minutes of dedicated time. That flat rate covers your full session: a thorough review of how you're doing, medication management, and any clinical decision-making needed that visit. There are no hidden fees, no surprise charges after the fact, and no billing codes determining how much time you get. You'll always know exactly what your visit costs before you book it.
